The Predator XO fly reels are perfectly matched to the Predator fly rods. Behind their modern look, the tried and tested XO reels just have a different look.

The XO 89 is the ideal reel size for single-handed and switch rods. With a thin backing and monofilament line, the XO has enough capacity even for smaller two-handed rods.

The drag system is a slightly tamed version of the larger and more brutal XO fly reels 910 and 1012. The rollers have an ideal weight for the respective purpose and maximum braking power. The frame and spool are weight-reduced, elegantly milled thin but the “wine glass look” construction makes this reel super stiff.

The wheels are equipped with a bombproof and powerful brake. The braking mechanism has been in use for over 20 years and has already drilled countless large fish. The tried and tested braking mechanism on the new XO wheels is even better sealed than on the previous models. The 8/9 is perfect for our Baltic Sea, 9/10 is perfect for pike fishing and 10/12 is great for heavy salmon or Canary Islands fishing.

The XO's braking power increases very linearly over 2.5 laps, giving you an impressive maximum force of 8kg. Axle seals from German Ina are used for sealing and all bearings are from Japan.
