Tungsten Beads Slotted Beads
Slotted tungsten beads are easier to slip over the hook.
The best way to get a nymph to depth is to use a tungsten bead. If the water current is of varying strength, the nymph does not immediately drift upwards to the water surface. Nymphs are flies in the larval stage and usually stay near the bottom.
Tugging with the line or rod imitates the hopping movement of a nymph. With tungsten beads you can reach the bottom of deep pools more quickly than with brass beads.
Tungsten is twice as heavy.
